From Colombia to Burleigh Heads: My Story

Two years ago, in July 2024, I opened the doors to our little roastery in Burleigh Heads. Nearly a year before that, in late 2023, I made the decision that would shape everything we do today: to partner with one single Colombian farm.

Right now, I’m standing on that very farm as I write this. I can see the trees that produced the beans we roasted back home this week. To me, that’s the magic of coffee—it’s not just a drink, it’s a living connection between two places, two communities, and two sets of hands.

What “Single-Estate” Really Means to Me

In a coffee world full of blends, buzzwords, and marketing spin, single-estate coffee is about honesty and respect.

For us, it means:

One farm, one story. Every bean comes from the same family-run Colombian farm—not from anonymous bulk lots.

True traceability. I can walk you to the exact hillside where your morning cup began.

Consistency without compromise. Because we stay committed to one farm, we don’t sacrifice quality for quantity.

That’s what single-estate means to me. It’s coffee with a name, a face, and a story.

Why Australia Needs Coffee With Purpose

Australia’s coffee culture is incredible—but it’s also at risk. As global prices rise, many roasters cut corners by blending in cheaper beans or chasing volume. On paper it looks fine, but in the cup it loses its soul.

I refuse to do that. For me, single-estate coffee matters because it:
